UNITED STATES AIR FORCE ACADEMY RUGBY PROGRAM

PRESERVING THE LEGACY OF THE ZOOMIE RUGBY PROGRAM

The Air Force Academy’s Rugby Program was founded in 1968 and began competing in USA Rugby’s collegiate ranks in 1980. Since then, Zoomie Rugby’s warrior ethos has carried it to 10 Rugby 15s national championships between the Men’s and Women’s teams placing it among the top 5 programs in USA Rugby history. In addition to the 15s national championships, Air Force placed as national runners-up many times, made numerous appearances in the national final four, and launched many to the USA National Team.

With rugby now as an Olympic sport, the popularity of Rugby 7s continues to grow. The Women’s team has found additional national-level success with this game.
