The Air Force Academy Rugby Program has a 55-year tradition of competing at the highest levels. The warrior ethos, honed by the academy and rugby program’s uniquely competitive and demanding environment, develops exceptional leaders who are prepared for any challenge they face in battle, business, or life. The highest strata in the Air Force have been well represented by rugby alumni including the first female four-star general in Air Force history.
With rugby now an Olympic sport and a women’s NCAA emerging sport, universities - including West Point and Annapolis - have promoted their rugby teams from club to intercollegiate-level sports enabled by substantial financial backing from parents, alumni, and other benefactors. Financially supporting the program enables continued development of tomorrow’s leaders and elevation of the game to compete at the highest levels.
The Rugby Program offers two funding categories: operational and perpetual. Donations to the Operational Funds go
directly towards supporting each team’s current year financial needs. Donations to the Men’s or Women’s Perpetual
Fund contributes to an endowment that will provide the financial foundation needed for intercollegiate-level resourcing,
including coaching salaries and dedicated facilities / equipment, well into the future.
